The prestige of the general nurse profession from the perspective of nursing students

This work is intended to provide an overview of basic information about the general nurse profession and the students' view of the prestige of this profession. Objectives: The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to bring up-to-date information about how students perceive the prestige of the general nursing profession in the Czech Republic (hereafter referred to as the Czech Republic). The opinion of the students will be determined using a questionnaire survey, and the data obtained will then be compared with the data from the research conducted by the Center for Public Opinion Research (hereinafter referred to as CVVM), in the research project - Our Society. Methods: 398 students were approached using an electronic questionnaire survey. Out of all the respondents, one hundred two students answered, of which fifty-four were students of the second year of the master's (hereinafter referred to as MgrSP) study program of General Medicine, twenty-eight students of the bachelor's (hereinafter referred to as BcSP) study program of General Nursing and twenty students of BcSP Pediatric Nursing. The needs of the field of social work from the point of view of social workers

The thesis examines the needs of the field of social work as perceived by social workers elected on the basis of diverse conceptions of social work. The theoretical part defines the concept of social work, problems of postmodern social work, requirements for social worker qualification, social work education, explains the concepts of profession, professionalization, professionography. It describes the personality of the social worker, his competences; supervision and reflexivity in social work. Characteristics of developmental needs and their distribution, different conceptions of social work and the Code of Ethics in the context of these conceptions are presented. The research part focuses on the interpretation of the data obtained according to Pesso Boyden's concept of developmental needs. Thus, the essence of the thesis is the needs of the field of social work as formulated by social workers.

Volunteering as Deinstitutionalizacion of Social Work

The bachelor's thesis deals with volunteering as a possible form of deinstitutionalized social work. The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to determinate the position of volunteering in social work and its use in the performance of social work. Further describe how social workers perceive volunteering and its applicability in social work. A qualitative research strategy was used to achieve the set goal. The research group was deliberately selected on the basis of arranging contact through volunteer coordinators. The research sample is therefore social workers who use volunteers in their practice for at least one year. The necessary data were obtained by the method of questioning, specifically by the technique of semi-structured interview. All data were evaluated by using open coding and subsequent categorization of data. The results show that although volunteering in social work is widely applicable and can be used in both outpatient, residential and field social services, it is not yet common in the domestic social work environment for volunteers to work in the client's natural environment and thus directly involved in the process of deinstitutionalisation of social services. Results of the research of this bachelor thesis can be beneficial both for the volunteers and volunteer coordinators as well as for social workers and organizations providing social services, by providing space for a possible discussion about the wide possibilities of volunteering and its future potential.

Care placement agencies: professionalization of care in expert systems

During last couple of decades, the paid child care has become one of the central issues of feminist research. The agencies mediating child care are relatively the new actor in child care arrangements in the Czech Republic. This MA thesis argues that they not only fill the gap in the market by offering a child care. Above all, far from providing the simple supply that reacts to the demand on the market, the agencies create the demand for specific care. Drawing upon qualitative research conducted with owners of these agencies, the text looks into the ways how the child care is constructed. The analysis consists of two parts. In the first one the agencies are understood as expert systems generating specific trust. In the second part, the issues of qualified, specialized, and professionalized care are discussed. The thesis aims at showing that child care in the agencies is deconstructed as a natural female activity and is reconstructed as a gendered activity requiring particular skills that are submitted to professional screening.

Each of the topic is described on the theoretical base, then the historical development of using this technic by political parties is mentioned, and finally relevant criticism of this concept (related to the problems of the definition of the concept, or to the normative reflections on democratic political systém) is noticed. The Comparison of Selected Social Movement Organizations

Title of the Bachelor's Thesis: Comparison of Selected Social Movement Organizations Abstract: This bachelor thesis compares the social movement organizations on the basis of the resource mobilization theory. In relation to the resources, organizations use various strategies. Aim of this thesis is to identify similarities and differences in the strategies that organization use in relation to selected resources. This thesis focuses on material resources, human resources and the Internet. The theoretical part introduces the issue of civil society and civil society organizations. The largest part is devoted to the theory of resource mobilization, including the specification of individual types of resources and followed by a description of selected organization strategies. In the empirical part is made a comparative analysis of selected social movement organizations. To achieve the objective it was chosen a method of semi-structured interviews with representatives of selected organizations. Character of the professionalisation of NGOs and its impact.

The theme of this thesis is the professionalization of NGOs, which can be defined as the transformation to a formal organization with professional management. The process of professionalization consist in job creations and/or the professional management. Jobs can be filled by professionals with volunteer experience or by professionals without volunteer experience. If NGO employs professionals with volunteer experience, the character of personnel professionalization is organic, otherwise is inorganic. The main objective of this thesis is to determine the difference in process, level and consequences of organic and inorganic professionalization of nonprofit organizations. The presumption is that the organic professionalization implies less negative impact on the nonprofit organization than inorganic professionalization. In the theoretical part terms like nonprofit sector, NGOs and professionalization are defined and the theoretical background related to the character of personnel professionalization is presented there. In the empirical part - based on the methodology - is the relationship between the character of personnel professionalization and the process, level and consequences of professionalization in two researched NGOs examined.
